Level I-3 is the fourth Italian level of the Backrooms.

Description:

Level I-3 is an abandoned submarine in a pink subaqueous enviroinment.

The inside of the submarine is composed of narrow and thigh corridors, with dark metal walls which reflect the faint artificial lights. The air density is lower, this makes it diffucult to breathe for most lifeforms. The enviroinment is humid and time perception seems distorted, making this place difficult to navigate. Also, the constant noise of machinery and waves shattering onto the ship makes the enviroinment even more oppressive.

The technology present within the submarine seems to be obsolete and in most cases it no longer works correctly, creating a dayed and unraveled atmosphere. In some zones, the walls and the roof look twisted and deformed, causing a spacial distortion that makes it difficult to steer oneselves.

One of the entities of Level I-3. Entities vary greatly from one another.

The floor is slippery and covered by a thin algae and mold coating, making it more difficult to walk on. Water drops from small cracks in the walls and the roof, creating puddles long the corridor. The faint lights usually impede wanderers to distinguish walls and roof details, creating an eery atmosphere. In some points, walls and roof metal appears to be corroded, this raises the suspect that the submarine might collapse at any time.

Some submarine's areas have been described ad "anomalies", with strange and unexpected effects on individual's appearance and behaviour who got in. These anomalies can cause space distortion, memory loss and time perception disorders.

The submarine was originally provided of advanced technology, like LCD monitors, sophisticated communication systems and high power weaponry. However, most part of these technologies are now in disuse or don't work correctly due to corrosion and over time decay.

Some present technologies are abnormal and can cause strange and unexpected effects on who uses them, such as time perception and orientation troubles. In some zones of the submarine, the technology appears to be have been modified or used in a anomalous way by the non-human creatures that control the level.

Level I-3 inhabitants have been classified as non-human entities that have taken control over the submarine. These entities usually have an hostile behaviour and will assault whoever they meet, but in rare cases they reveal themselves being friendly and willing to establish pacific relationships.

Bases, Outposts and Communities:

There are no reported stable human outposts within Level I-3. However, some wanderers communities have reported temporary bases built by explorers who try to escape from hostile entities that control the level. These bases are usually built with makeshift materials and are destined to be used only for short periods of time.

Several wanderers have established commercial relationships with some Level I-3 inhabitants, which appear to be willing to trade goodies and information with human beings in exchange for objects and technologies that can be used to enhance their submarine. However, these transactions are dangerous and must be led cautiously, since these hostile entities can strike human explorers at any moment.

Entrances and Exits:

Entrances:

No stable entrances to Level I-3 have been found. All interviewed wanderers claim to have found themselves "magically" there and to have felt a sensation like "taking an hot bath". These accesses tend to be ephemeral and can't be replicated in a reliable way.

Exits:

Level I-3 exits are just as rare e instable. Some explorers reported to have been able to leave through temporary portals that opened unexpectedly, but these events are very rare and unpredictable. All interviewed wanderers claim to have felt a sensation like "taking a bath in the acid" when they got out of the level.

You… Are you still there…?

What is that?

A computer?

Do you mind if… Can I?

Really? Can I link it to the submarine?

Thanks… Really.
